Hoàng Thanh Vĩnh Phong Vietnamien, 1971

Hoàng Thanh Vĩnh Phong (b.1971, Quang Tri, Viet Nam) graduated from the Hue University of Fine Arts in 1996. Living a discreet life in Hoi An, Vĩnh-Phong has consistently experimented with a myriad of forms and media – from oil and lacquer painting, to printing on ceramic and sculpting with found objects – simultaneously researching and expanding their techniques and capabilities for over two decades.

2017 marks an important milestone for the artist as he became the second artist to take part in ‘Materialize’, an exhibition program, initiated by The Factory, in response to the great lack of space and opportunity for Vietnamese artists to experiment and display their art in Vietnam. Since then, Vĩnh Phong has been actively involved in important exhibitions in Vietnam and gained recognition from the local and international art scene.
His works are represented in the collections of the Nguyen Art Foundation (HCMC, Vietnam), The Outpost (Hanoi, Vietnam) and multiple private collections in Vietnam, Switzerland, Singapore, New Zealand, Belgium and Australia.

Some notable exhibitions include: ‘Fractured Times’ (The Outpost Art Organization, Hanoi, 2022); ‘Portrait of the Mattresses’ (VICAS Art Studio, Hanoi, Vietnam, 2020); ‘Paradise Lost’ (Factory Contemporary Arts Centre, HCM City, 2017).
