In pursuing his introspective path, Hom Nguyen, the French artist of Vietnamese origin, progresses in his initiatory journey and sets out to meet his origins, more deeply rooted in his inner self. “Trajectoire” embodies the moment of life that everyone has known, knows and will know. In these “moments of life”, there are lots of choices which disturb, toggle and push us to grow up. Many scenes of life rise to the surface and cause anxieties, smiles, joyous and silent moments to emerge. Hom’s memories intersect and collide our memories do, to pay attention to a more mature and more sensitive feeling, gradually raising the heavy emotions of the past.
The gesture of Hom Nguyen, more liberated and aerial compared with the previous series, continues to travel on the surface of the canvas in search of something: the origin of himself. Today, we are what we have decided to be. But, at the source, we all have one thing in common:our referent, like a hero for a little boy, a grandmother for a dad or a mother for Hom.
“Trajectoire” illustrates this universal, psychological state in which our mind encounters physically or psychologically its referent. Everyone travels to his destiny and continues to create communication with others.
