RACHID KORAÏCHI: The ancestors linked to the stars

8 Apr - 6 May 2017
Rachid Koraïchi is a plastic artist born in Algeria. Influenced by the Sufi mystical thought, he continues to work on signs, symbols and spirituality. He combines all these elements to create a particular work in which all his installations take place. In this project at A2Z gallery, he will show us some excellent artwork of his different projects which have been already set up around the world, including "Ancestors linked to the stars" (2005-2008), "Invisible Masters" (2010-2011) and "In your blue eyes" (2013).

The black and white textile produced in Cairo (2007-2009) is the first sample of what would the immense project "Invisible Masters" become. The two large standards are part of a set of 77 pieces made in Damascus, Syria. The three sculptures in the 3 different space of the gallery come from 99 pieces called "The Prayers". The ceramics are the interludes of the enormous jars integrated into the project "Prayer for the Absent One", dedicated to his parents. What's more, an installation which is combined by 49 steel sculptures will be presented on a whole wall of the Gallery.
